HIGH QUALITY GLASS REQUIRES HIGH QUALITY BATCH

ZIPPE glass batch plants ensure that the batch for every glass type is fed fully automatically into the melter with the exact consistency and homogeneity required, at the required amount and at the right point in time – 24 hours a day, every day.

YOUR SYSTEM EXACTLY TO SIZE

Our teams of experts ensure smooth and on-schedule realisation of every order – also as turnkey solutions if so required. Globally leading companies are placing their trust in our expertise – and we are channelling all our efforts into continual developments and innovation so that this remains the case in the future. And because the safety of operating personnel is of utmost importance to us, the maxim for everything we do is SAFETY FIRST.

INLINE PLANTS - FLEXIBLE, FOR MEDIUM TO LARGE PRODUCTION QUANTITIES
With inline plants, silos are arranged in a row next to each another. Ideally, these plants are used for medium to high outputs (150 to 1,200 tons a day). They are used when many different materials or silos and various recipes are needed.

The more silos are needed, the more weighers are required. They can be arranged more flexibly in an inline plant. All weighers empty onto a central (discharge) conveyor that transports the raw materials weighed to the mixer. Inline plants can also be equipped with multiple mixers.

This enables multiple furnaces to be supplied with batch, e.g. for different glass colours. The benefit of inline plants however is their flexibility. These plants can be subsequently expanded with additional silos and weighers to, for example, increase production or be able to produce additional types of glass.

TOWER PLANTS - COMPACT, FOR SMALL TO MEDIUM PRODUCTION VOLUMES
Tower plants are perfectly designed for low to medium outputs (10 to 450 tons a day). They are normally fitted with one mixer but can also be fitted with more, and supply multiple melting furnaces. The silos or the raw material weighers are arranged over the mixer and empty directly into it.

The difference from linear plants is that there is no discharge conveyor, which is beneficial in terms of dust build-up. Due to the lower output, tower plants can be made very compact and so do not require very much floor space, relatively speaking.

BATCH PLANTS FOR CONTAINER GLASS
Redying (flint, green, amber) is performed often for flexible glass production. The plants must be capable of discharging the entire range of colours.

Higher percentages of shards, up to 90%
Cullet handling plays an important role
High level of wear protection very important (because of the high cullet percentage)

BATCH PLANTS FOR FLAT GLASS
These plants have a far higher capacity than for hollow glass production

Lower (external) cullet percentage
First ZIPPE float plant in 1984
ZIPPE has built a total of 80 float glass batch plants
The furnaces are not redyed as often

BATCH PLANTS FOR SPECIAL GLASS
These batch plant pose very special requirements:

Many small components
High accuracy required for weighing
Great expertise needed for handling raw materials
Low iron sometimes required
Particular properties, such as its highest optical purity and homogeneity, chemical resistance and resistance to changes in temperature, are distinguishing factors of special glass

BATCH PLANTS FOR FIBER GLASS
It is very dry and lightweight materials that are used predominantly in the production of fiber glass. The batch plants must satisfy particular requirements here too in regard to:

Design (tower plant)
Transportation (pneumatic)
Mixing process (pneumatic blender)
Dust extraction (filter)
