The HORN roller annealing lehr is a specially designed cooling channel for sheet glass application, e.g. ornament glass, wired glass or profile glass. All customer specifications are considered during the design of the roller annealing lehr.
The endless glass ribbon is transported through the cooling channel on high quality heat resistant stainless steel rollers. The actuation of the steel rollers can be done by a single shaft or by synchronised frequency controlled electric motors. Thus the unique rotation of the rollers is guaranteed.
The housing of the lehr is made of modular steel casings with special computer modelled air channels inside for the distribution of the hot air. Special cooling and circulation fans installed on top of the lehr ensure the unique distribution of the air inside the channels in each section, both above and below the glass ribbon.
Each section is well insulated with high quality fibre insulation to reduce the heat loss to a minimum. Thus low energy consumption and unique temperature distribution can be assured.
Natural gas heaters or electrical heaters provide the required hot air and will be supplied complete with measuring and control equipment.
