Tweel
Furnaces
The purpose of the tweel is to regulate the glass flow from the melting tank into the tin bath.
The operating tweel is placed towards the front glass flow direction and the emergency tweel is placed behind it.
Using a control panel directly at the tweel or via tank data processor, each of the two slides can be moved individually by the cylinders upwards or downwards and with a positioning accuracy of 0.1 mm.
The measure of the glass flow can be controlled by adjusting the height of the tweel through cylinders.
By complete closing of the spout through the operating or emergency tweel, the glass flow can be fully stopped.
The operating tweel damper and the emergency tweel damper are made of fused silica; however the emergency tweel damper can also be made of heat-resistant steel.
