Laser Cladding
Moulds
A surface treatment is used to improve superficial specifications of a material: Hardness, Elastic Modulus, Wear or oxidation resistance, Modifications of thermal or electrical conductivity and Visual aspect, Preserving its dimensional integrity
- Cladding is only way to improve mould’s life and joint quality.
- Cladding edges or profiles reduces or destroyed the technical performance of materials used (cast iron, bronze, steel)
- Today cladding techniques do not allow constant thermal setting, repeatable from one mould to another or from one series to another.
If, thanks to Laser cladding, we can:
Control cladding thicknesses
Make the cord just where it is necessary
Not affect materials specific to Glass process
Improve the moulds’ thermal homogeneity.
Then, we are able to:
Master the machine’s IS driving and the differences from one section to the other or from one mould to the other
Optimise on the continuity of Glass thicknesses, especially on the thin at the parting line
Improve the parts geometry (flat on sewing)
Improve the items’ appearance by removing the marks linked to cladding on sewing
Refurbish the existing toolings as there is no distortion when
hardfacing
